Studio Etiquette

For the Best Experience

1. ARRIVE ON TIME
At least 10 mins before class start time. It is not a good practice to walk into the hot room when class has started as it is not favorable to students who are trying to relax and arriving on time. We also lock the studio door once class starts. No exceptions.

2. NO COMMUNICATION DEVICES IN THE HOT  ROOM

The Hot Room is a place for meditation and practice. Respect yourself and your neighbors by being silent in your experience.

3. SHOES OFF
In yoga, people put their hands, and sometimes their face on the floor. You are going to take your shoes off anyway, so please remove them at the door.

4. TRY TO STAY IN THE ROOM
If you feel you MUST leave the room, please do so in between sets/postures.  It is very disruptive to leave the room while people are trying to balance in stillness.  Look through the window to see when the set is over and then re-enter the room

 5. PRACTICE ON AN EMPTY STOMACH
It is recommended that you do not eat at least 2 hours before you practice. If a special condition prevents this, eat easily digestible foods, i.e. fruit or yogurt one hour before class.

6. FULLY COMMIT TO PRACTICE
You get all the benefits for trying. Bikram Yoga is a chemical engineering for your body, listen and do exactly as instructed and you will see the results over time. Just be fully committed especially if you are in the leading rows. Don’t incorporate your own variations into the postures.  Stay with the energy of the class.

7. LIMIT YOUR SHOWER TIME
Please refrain from taking excessively long showers right after class as it puts unnecessary strain on your body. Also, other students might be waiting for their turn as we get super busy at times. A quick 5 minute shower to wash off sweat is all that is needed and recommended to bring the body temperature back to normal and settling the benefits of your yoga practice naturally.
